Tech skills I want to learn in 2020

2020 is finally here! Time to set some goals!  It is always a good idea to upgrade your skillset. Here are some of the skills I would like to learn in 2020.

1. Artificial intelligence / Machine Learning

One of the techniques I would love to learn more about is machine learning.

My first test project will probably be an image recognition tool build with Google Firebase. Next to that I would like to discover TensorFlow.js. TensorFlow is an end-to-end open source platform for machine learning. It  enables you to use custom ML models with Javascript.

2. Docker

Docker is an Industry-leading container platform for rapid app/microservices development and delivery. With Docker you can easily create virtual development environments. Docker basically provides a way to run applications securely isolated in a container, packaged with all its dependencies and libraries.

3. Amazon AWS

Amazon AWS offers flexible, reliable, scalable, easy-to-use and cost-effective cloud computing solutions. The Amazon cloud platform contains over 175 fully featured services. All these services can be managed for your Amazon Cloud account.

The main reason why I want to learn AWS is because I want to be able to deploy our products quickly to a reliable server.

4. Scrum

Scrum is a framework for managing projects. Often used during software development. In software development, efficiency is key. Scrum helps with that.

Keep learning!

These are some of the skills I would like to learn in 2020. Are you also learning these skills, or do you think I should learn something else? Tweet me @jvanwijhe.
